A thought leader who actually ships products.
Alex Bratton has spent 35 years helping leaders put emerging technology to work where it moves the business. He is the CEO and Chief Geek of Lextech and of AIWhy, its practice for mid-market owners, CEOs and leadership teams who want AI to produce measurable results rather than demos.
Alex built the Capability Equity method inside his own companies first. Lextech spent two decades building software for other people, including a fifteen-year enterprise partnership with Apple, a top-grossing iPhone app that held the number one spot worldwide for sixteen weeks and an app Apple chose to install on every in-store iPad. The work won an Edison Award and a Chicago Innovation Award. Then AI transformed most of that kind of building, and Alex rebuilt his own firm with capabilities for the post-app, AI-native age.
He is the author of Capability Equity, Practical AI for Leaders and Billion Dollar Apps, an adjunct professor of computer science and the Guild Leader of the AIWhy AI Builders Guild, the community he founded for the people inside fast-moving companies who build the AI skills and agents that do the work. He has worked with leaders at organizations like Apple, FedEx, AstraZeneca, Southwest Airlines, American Airlines, Novartis, AT&T, the U.S. Army, the FBI and the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory.
His rule for AI fits on a sticky note: don't AI where it doesn't matter.
