I am a retired teacher turned author/illustrator living in the mountains of North Carolina with my husband and French bulldog. There’s a running creek in my back yard all year long. I often sit by it and get my inspiration to write.

I’ve always had an interest in children’s books. I’ve illustrated numerous children’s books such as Pearl Girl, by Stephen Rabley, The Songbird and the Flower, by Chip Brogden, There’s A Dog On My Head, by Patricia Pollock, and more.

In November 2022, I wrote, illustrated and self published my first children’s chapter book, Acorn and Button. It’s a chapter book about friendship and loyalty, aimed at ages 7 - 10+.

When a pretentious button meets an unassuming acorn in the big woods, their friendship is off to a rocky start. However, they soon learn to rely on each other. Button teaches Acorn some etiquette, and without even knowing it, Acorn shows Button how to loosen up a little.

The unlikely duo embark on all kinds of adventures, from facing down bullies to escaping ferocious beasts. Both Acorn and Button demonstrate courage, loyalty, and kindness throughout each challenge and soon become the best of friends.

My picture book, Get Real, Lucille was published by Monarch Press and released in August of 2025. It’s about a rubber chicken who tires of her circus act and dreams of becoming a real chicken. Get Real, Lucille is a funny story about being true to yourself.
