Hello,
My name is Magdalena, and I was born in Slovakia—a small but very beautiful country in the heart of Europe. I studied economics and worked in banking for many years before deciding to change my life and move to England. Along with new professional challenges, I embraced the challenge of learning a new language. I settled in London and devoted all my free time to studying English, and I was very proud when I successfully completed my GCSE in English and Literature.
During my studies, I was asked to write many short stories. That experience made me realize how much I enjoyed writing, and I decided that one of my life goals would be to publish a book. For a long time, however, my career in health and social care kept me too busy to write. Then, after becoming ill, I had time to reflect. During treatment and rehabilitation, I realized that life is too short to postpone important goals. That was when I began writing my first novella, Ice Beneath My Wheels (originally published as Stars on Ice). The story was inspired by my own activities, when I accompanied people in wheelchairs to skate.
Stars on Ice is not a long book, and its sequel, Echoes of Friendship, was published recently. In this second part, I describe Lara’s journey not only as a skater in a wheelchair, but also as a friend, lover, and mother. My third book took a different direction: I set out to write a crime novel, but found myself stuck. With the help of my daughter-in-law, who contributed wonderful ideas, the project transformed into a contemporary thriller. The result was Naked Revenge: A Game of Shadows, which follows Ethan, a cold-hearted man who built his empire in London, and his journey of transformation as he searches for true.
I have discovered that writing is not only deeply fulfilling, but also brings me joy and balance. Even my friends have noticed that I look more relaxed and happier. Writing has given me a new focus in life, and I hope that book lovers and reading communities will enjoy my stories as much as I have enjoyed creating them
