Hi, I’m Lotty—author, storyteller, and lifelong dreamer! From the moment I could hold a pencil, I’ve loved creating stories, and now, in my 60s, I’m finally making that childhood dream a reality.

I write children’s books about Weebert the Robot, a loveable little character made from scrap, who goes on big adventures and discovers the magic of imagination. The stories are inspired by the real-life robot sculptures my husband, Andy, creates from old tools, helicopter parts, and other bits of scrap. What started as a passion project has now grown into Weebert’s World, a world full of creativity, play, and storytelling.

For years, I was an Army wife, raising our three children while Andy was posted across the world. Life wasn’t always easy—there were goodbyes, long stretches apart, and plenty of challenges—but there was also adventure, resilience, and so many happy reunions. That experience shaped who I am today, giving me the determination to chase my dreams and create stories that encourage children to explore, imagine, and play.

My debut book, Weebert Has an Adventure, was published in 2023, and Ive now followed it up with The Adventures of Weebert the Robot: Robots, Chickens and Dinosaurs. And this is just the beginning! Alongside Andy, I’m now working to bring Weebert’s World to life on children’s TV, collaborating with the BBC development team to refine our pitch.

I truly believe it’s never too late to follow your dreams, and I hope my stories inspire children to see adventure everywhere—even in the most unexpected places!
