Lori Fischer

LORI FISCHER (Writer/Actress) received her M.F.A. from the N.Y.U. Dramatic Writing Department and a Screenwriting Certificate from UCLA’s Professional Program. She is a New York University Harry Kondoleon Graduate Award in Playwriting recipient and a Dramatists Guild Fellow. Screenwriting Credits: Independent Vision Award Nominee for Outstanding achievement in Screenwriting for the feature film Chasing Taste, which is available on Amazon Prime. Her short films I Only Miss You When I’m Breathing and Kindness Matters feature country music legend Phil Vassar and her short film Dottie’s Thanksgiving Pickle features Academy Award Winner Olympia Dukakis and Tony Award Nominee Nancy Opel. Theater Credits: Most recently, her comedy Greener Pastures was recommended by the Suzi Awards for Aurora Theatre's 2024 hilarious production. Lori wrote and starred in her musical Barbara’s Blue Kitchen Off-Broadway at the Lamb’s Theatre. And she co-wrote and starred in her (and Don Chaffer’s) musical The Sparkley Clean Funeral Singers at Capital Repertory Theatre and the Cumberland County Playhouse. (Both musicals are published by Concord Theatricals.) Lori is an Adjunct Writing Professor at both New York University and Lipscomb University. A two-time All-American in Track and Field, Lori has performed regionally, Off-Broadway and in various movies and commercials.
