Teddy Van Gough

Teddy Van Gough is a Detroit-based filmmaker working across the full spectrum of production as a director, cinematographer, producer, writer, and editor. Through his company, Middlepointe Media, he has built a body of work that spans platforms including Tubi, Apple TV, Amazon, YouTube, ESPN, Disney, and STARZ.

His directorial debut, Corruption, marked his entry into feature filmmaking, and his work on Cupid's Christmas earned a Telly Award. Alongside his production career, Teddy has developed the Phase 7 Arc, a proprietary story structure he uses to teach emerging filmmakers how to build narratives with intention and emotional precision.

A longtime advocate for arts education in his hometown, Teddy serves on the Board of Advisors for the Detroit School of Arts, where he mentors the next generation of storytellers. His first book, Directing Your Dreams, was named an Amazon Best New Release in 2025 and reflects his belief that filmmaking, like life, is built on dedication, determination, desire, and discipline.

Teddy continues to direct, shoot, and produce film and television projects while expanding his work in filmmaker education from Detroit.
