Kaiama Hamer

Kai-ama Mootoo-Hamer was born and raised in the Bronx, New York and is a self proclaimed city girl who loves her neighborhood and has pride in her community. She is a former rap artist, licensed Special Education teacher and master practitioner with over twenty five of experience working directly with young children and families.

Through her new book, I LOVE MY NEIGHBORHOOD, she wants to share a message of community love and appreciation for inner-city life, with every child growing up in urban neighborhoods across the country. This is Kai-ama's second book.
