I WRITE TO BREAK THE SILENCE.

I am a South African author who refuses to choose between raw truth-telling and mystical revelation.

In 1966, I was adopted through South Africa's closed adoption system — my story sealed, my voice silenced. Un-Adoptically Me (Literary Titan Gold Award; Readers' Favorite 5-Star Review) explores identity, belonging, and consciousness through the lived reality of adoption — the love and loss, the trauma and resilience, and the lifelong remembering of self.

In 1999, I received the sacred name Eljoshijka, given to me on a bench in a sacred place. I carried it for 26 years without understanding its meaning. Then my son Georick took his own life at age 33, and The Voice returned. Over 33 consecutive days, 33 transmissions moved through me.

Eljoshijka: Surrender. Soul Remembrance. Sacred Revelation. documents consciousness recognizing itself, spiraling from primal wound into cosmic wholeness.

This is Ubuntu wisdom from South African soil: I am because we are. Not California spiritual centers. Not Bali retreats. The ancestors speak through the living. What breaks us open breaks us toward each other.

I do not write to comfort.

I do not write to heal.

I write to remember us to ourselves — and healing follows remembrance.

From my sanctuary in Tulbagh, South Africa, I live among vineyards and mountains with my husband, Keith. My work lives at the meeting point of lived pain and spiritual awakening, staying with what wounds us long enough for its wisdom to speak.

If you believe in the power of unfiltered truth and the courage to let consciousness speak through you, you are in the right place. Let's continue the conversation.
