Dean Chalkley

Renowned photographer Dean Chalkley has produced exciting imagery over the past three decades. His highly stimulating imagery is packed with authenticity and fuelled by his devotion to music and its potential for self expression. Positioned at the intersection of music, fashion and culture Dean has explored many topics including the contemporary Mod and Northern Soul scenes as well as 21st Century Rudeboys, underground music pioneers and pop stars.

Dean’s forthcoming photographic book BACK IN IBIZA is a dynamic curation of images selected from the vast archive of photographs Dean made whilst on assignment in Ibiza between 1998-2003, the book also includes written contributions from notable people connected to the scene. This collection presents a thrilling journey into that unfiltered and sometimes unhinged club scene, a celebration of a wildly hedonistic moment on the Balearic Island thrusting the reader right back into the heart of those truly liberated times.

Dean continues to be a prolific image maker primarily working with stills photography and occasionally crossing over to moving image practices.
