Richard W. Schmidt, RDN, listens to people who have failed at weight loss and questions whether they had all the boxes checked to be successful. His checklist includes nutritional education, professional bibliography, relatable weight struggles, passion, sense of humor, insightful, listening ear, group teaching and creativity. Also, he insists that you add the ‘E’ word, Exercise. His book title clearly conveys this message!
Why did he wait until age 68 to publish a book? He never planned to author a book, but twenty plus former healthcare professionals in his classes said he should. In hindsight, he believes life experiences better prepared him to write, which was less likely at age 30, 40 or 50. His unique excel Revolutionary Tracker presents your personally designed plan with timelines to achieve goal weight.
Richard attended SUNY Plattsburgh and earned his B.S. degree and then attended a Dietetic Internship in Detroit, Michigan. He proudly became a Registered Dietitian in 1980. He was employed for 40 years in health care working in hospitals and nursing homes.
His creative thinking often occurs when riding his Peloton bike. He has a YouTube channel, The Weight Loss Boss RDN, and he has a professional Facebook page under Richard Schmidt. He lives in New York.
