I’m Lex R, the author of Dire, a dark romance about survival, gang loyalty, and dealing with dire consequences. I grew up as the quiet kid, always lost in my thoughts and creating entire worlds to escape the one I was stuck in.

I wrote Dire four years ago, but it stayed hidden in my files for a long time. It wasn’t until I kept rereading the story and falling in love with it more each time that I found the courage to share it. The inspiration for Dire came from a whole lot of trauma; though I’ll leave the unpacking of that to the professionals. That trauma gave me a wild imagination and a sense of humor that I hope comes through in my writing.

Writing Dire has been a journey, and I hope it reaches readers who are craving emotional storytelling and characters they’ll remember long after the last page. I also hope it resonates with those who feel unwanted or unseen. You’re not alone; I see you, and I’m right there with you.
