Kristi Bishop

Kristi Bishop began writing poems as a child. One of her earliest creations was titled "Oh, How I Love Thanksgiving." She formed a close bond with nature and was often found happily playing in the woods, streams, or fields where she grew up or sitting contentedly outside under an umbrella in the rain. From age 7, Kristi began feeling very close to her Creator God, especially when outdoors. An avid reader, she also loved to draw and cook. Her mother treasures 3-year-old Kristi's drawing of a duck in a puddle and also saved a fruity drink recipe Kristi concocted before turning 10.

Initially pursuing a career in elementary education, Kristi specialized her college studies to major in Education for the Hearing Impaired. In addition to teaching children with hearing and language impairments and raising two sons, she obtained her Licensed Practical Nurse certification and worked as a caregiver and activities assistant in senior living communities.

Kristi is married to her high school sweetheart, Roddy, and for 35 years they have maintained their traditions of daily kindness and weekly date nights. She still enjoys cooking, reading, and nature and also dabbles in embroidery and painting with watercolors. She delights in brightening her home with holiday and seasonal decor while staying entertained and snuggled by her cats Sophie, Susannah, and Sally. Kristi's favorite activity is writing poetry, and her greatest joy is knowing someone has been inspired by her poems. She invites readers to explore her two books, "The Bird That Sang in the Storm and Other Poems" and "Sunlight Through the Trees and Other Poems," and find the peace and joy she strives to convey.
