David Metcalfe is the inaugural Kadoorie Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Oxford and a Consultant in Emergency Medicine at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, U.K. He was formerly a Fulbright Scholar at Harvard Medical School, Oxford-UCB Prize Fellow at Balliol, and Hunterian Professor of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
He has taught at St George's University of London, University College London, The Open University, and the University of Edinburgh. He currently teaches on the graduate entry medicine course at Magdalen College, Oxford.
David is particularly interested in musculoskeletal injury, clinical reasoning, and improving the early diagnosis of time-critical conditions.
