Dana Lynn Bernstein

I’m a conflict resolution coach with 2,600+ hours of helping people get out of their own way—because the hardest conflicts aren’t out there… they’re the ones happening in your own head.

I am a wife, mother, and daughter. I have a BA in Communications and a MA in Dispute Resolution. I earned my Master Certified Coach (MCC) through the International Coaching Federation. I’m also a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and Project Management Professional (PMP). And I manage our family-owned animal hospital. I call this my "outside" identity.

My internal identity (a.k.a. my “WHO”) is community, passion, laughter, and peace. I’m looking forward to helping you discover your internal identity self -- then proudly wear those attributes.

Because that is how conflict is solved: from the inside out. Not an off the shelf, one size fits all approach.

It’s the Thought That Counts: Mastering the Art of YOU vs. you isn’t theory—it’s a practical, honest (and sometimes humorous) guide to understanding which thoughts are running the show. You will also identify your Values, your Ideal Emotion and the Trigger that stops you! Then create a plan to realign and respond instead of react.

Whether you’re navigating a tough conversation, at a professional crossroads, or feeling indecisive because your Values are clashing with one another, this book gives you a clear, usable personal roadmap to solve challenges while staying aligned with your WHO.

Plus, there are QR codes in the book to be a guide by your side and provide an interactive experience.

Giving back is part of my mission. I donate a portion of the books' proceeds to the Girl Scouts and serve on their leadership team, helping create space for our girls to grow with confidence. I also volunteer as a court mediator and co-direct Chapter Programs for ICF New Jersey. And just to keep things interesting—I hold a second-degree black belt in MMA and an advanced brown belt in Goju Ryu. So, if I cannot solve conflict one way, there are alternatives. (Kidding.)

If you’re ready to stop overthinking, de-escalate faster, and show up as your best self when it matters most—this book is for you.

Alongside the book, I offer webinars on contracts, negotiations, ethics, difficult conversations, resilience, and the often-overlooked human side of project management. Because underneath everything we’re trying to accomplish, one truth holds steady: it all starts with how we show up for ourselves.
