Harmonie De Mieville

Harmonie de Mieville is a French author, essayist, podcaster, and musician. She has been writing since her teenage years and now develops a creative universe where literature, music, and cultural analysis are not separate disciplines, but different ways of exploring the same obsessions: human relationships, ambition, power, identity, desire, the industries that shape our imagination, and humanity’s remarkable ability to complicate almost everything it touches.

Her novels move between contemporary fiction, romance, speculative fiction, and the fantastic. She is drawn to flawed characters, relationships that cannot be solved by three misunderstandings and a kiss in the rain, and dilemmas where no comfortable answer is waiting at the end of the chapter. Her work often explores free will, memory, control, grief, power dynamics, and the tension between the choices we make and the lives we once imagined for ourselves.

This approach also runs through her serialized projects, including *The Vesper Covenant*, published in English on MyFiction, as well as *Racha Files*, an editorial project dedicated to Stray Kids and conceived at the intersection of music analysis, group history, and the study of their creative process.

In 2024, Harmonie launched her first podcast dedicated to popular culture. The project later evolved into **Ink & Acid**, an independent media platform where she examines music, film, fashion, celebrity, media, fandoms, and creative industries through a journalistic, research-driven, and deliberately sharp perspective. Beyond the works and cultural phenomena themselves, she is particularly interested in the less visible structures behind them: ownership, money, labour, public image, negotiating power, narrative construction, and the relationship between creativity and industry.

Music forms another major part of her work. Through **The Free Verse Chronicles**, she writes and develops albums, EPs, and songs designed as narrative extensions of her literary projects, allowing atmospheres, characters, fragments of fiction, and emotions to move from page to sound without any real boundary between the two. Her first album was released in 2025.

These projects are gradually being brought together under **Maison de Mieville**, an independent creative house built around her books, music, Ink & Acid, and future publishing and audiovisual projects. Its philosophy could be summed up quite simply: **one world was never going to be enough.**

This multidisciplinary approach is also shaped by a professional background far removed from the traditional image of a writer locked away with a typewriter and far too much coffee. After working across retail, management, communication, and project coordination, Harmonie now works within the worlds of research and higher education, including at the École normale supérieure and alongside the activities of J-PAL Europe and IDEE. Project management, communication, institutional coordination, and the inner workings of organisations all contribute to a way of writing that pays as much attention to systems and structures as to the people trying to find their place within them.

Her influences come from literature, manga, music, internet culture, fandoms, and international pop culture. She embraces a contemporary style that is emotional without being naive, romantic without assuming love excuses everything, and curious enough about moral grey areas to distrust characters who are too easy to love just as much as those who are too easy to hate.

Through Maison de Mieville, Harmonie continues to build a body of work in which novels, essays, podcasts, music, and narrative projects can respond to and expand one another.

Because a story was never really meant to stay inside a single format.
