Renata da Costa

Renata da Costa is from Goiania – Goiás, Brazil, but currently resides in the USA. She holds a degree in Portuguese/English Literature, a postgraduate degree in University Teaching, and a postgraduate degree in Neuroscience and Education from the CBI of Miami. She is also a student of Psychoanalysis and holds an Honorary Doctorate in Literature from FEBACLA. Renata is a therapist, teacher, writer, actress, artisan, photographer, mother, and autistic. She is the author of several works, including Insufficient, Finess, Transformation, My Little Big World 1 and 2, and The Bath in the Tub, which discuss her autistic son, who is also a writer. Other works include Sarah and The Family Rules, The Beautiful Butterfly Isabela, Between her and me, Echoes of Past Love and she organized the Anthology Talents Behind Autism. She has written poetry, short stories, plays, parodies, and children’s literature. Renata is a member of the International Academy of Brazilian Literature in New York, a founding academic of the Academic Nucleus of Letters and Arts of Portugal, and a founding academic of the Italian Academic Nucleus of Sciences, Letters, and Arts in Italy. She is also a member of the Virtual Academy of Portuguese Language and Literature and the Academy of Letters of São Pedro da Aldeia. Her accolades include the Apontador Award: Literary Evidence 2021, the 100 Best Contemporary Lusophone Poets Award 2021, Literary Highlight 2021, Universal Award “Pacifist Poetry,” Caiçara Award, Top 5 Literary Highlight 2022 by AILB, Top 5 Best Brazilian Children’s Writer in the USA, and Top 10 Best Brazilian Children’s Writer in the World by High Profile Magazine. She is an ambassador of the Agora Program and has received the International Diplomat Ruy Barbosa “The Eagle of The Hague” commendation from OMDDH. She holds honorary titles such as Peace Ambassador, Educational Highlight 2021, Cultural Highlight 2021, and Social Highlight 2021, all from OMDDH. She was awarded Best Juvenile Writer in the USA 2022 and has published texts in over 100 national and international anthologies.
