Ruth Babel

Ruth has been married for 26 years and is a seasoned foster parent with over a decade of experience. She has fostered children in both Florida and Texas, supporting children across a range of needs, from basic care to group homes and residential treatment centers. In addition to being a foster parent, Ruth is an adoptive and kinship parent, deeply passionate about advocating for children and families.

An experienced writer, Ruth previously wrote a blog, Fosterparenthelp.com, where she shared insights and advice on foster care. She has also contributed articles to Uttermost Sports, which were distributed through newsletters to supporters. Ruth is the author of As If They Were My Own, an upcoming self-help book offering guidance on advocating within the foster care system. Additionally, she is developing a fictional series, with Summer’s Secrets as the first book in the series. Ruth has been a featured speaker at several nonprofit galas for foster care and has been selected to speak on behalf of foster parents. She also testified before the Health and Human Services Committee in Austin, TX, advocating for regulations that better support the foster care community.

Outside of writing, Ruth is passionate about traveling, crafting, and being intentional with her family. Through her advocacy and writing, Ruth continues to inspire change and provide valuable resources to those in the foster care community.
