Luis Daniel Lugo

Luis Daniel Lugo, MD, MBA, is the Founding Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Lakeland Regional Health, where he built a 60-resident program at a hospital with the second-busiest emergency department in the United States. Among the first cohort to complete the Johns Hopkins University Agentic AI executive education certificate, he also holds a certificate in Applied Agentic AI for Organizational Transformation from MIT Professional Education.

Board-certified in internal medicine, Dr. Lugo serves as APDIM Councilor for the Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine (AAIM) and co-founded the Internal Medicine Chief Resident Alliance (IMCRA). Under his leadership, residents have produced over 300 scholarly products at regional, national, and international conferences. His books in the Intern Mastery series both reached Amazon's Top 100 Bestsellers list, and the first volume was recognized in the U.S. Congressional Record.
