Brennan Kenneth Brown is a Queer Métis writer, community builder, and open-source advocate whose work explores the intersections of Indigenous identity, digital technology, and literary arts. As founder and president of Write Club—a Queer-led and Indigenous-led creative collective at Mount Royal University—he has dedicated himself to nurturing emerging voices and fostering an inclusive literary community in Calgary, Alberta.
His published works span poetry, personal essays, and technical writing, including his debut chapbook "Holy Waterfall" (2023) which weaves together themes of Indigenous identity, spirituality, and personal transformation. Brown's essays have appeared in various publications including Beeminder, The Writing Cooperative, and multiple data science journals. Brown's academic work examines Indigenous resilience and narrative sovereignty. His research on Indigenous representation in graphic novels was published in the Mount Royal Undergraduate Humanities Review.
Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba—the convergence of the Assiniboine and Red rivers—Brown now calls Mohkínstsis (Calgary) home, exploring what it means to be Métis in contemporary Canada. In the past, he has served as a hospice cook, content strategist, and free/open-source software developer.
