Aaron Gehrig

Aryn Bats is a Canadian horror novelist and the creator of Psychogothic Fantasy, a genre that blends psychological fracture, architectural memory, and mythic unease into slow-burning narrative tension. His work explores themes of institutional silence, identity erosion, and the fragile boundary between structure and self. He specializes in architectural horror, supernatural horror, and Psychogothic Fantasy.

He began writing at sixteen, starting with poetry and short stories. He continued writing and archiving his work for decades until, at the age of 47, a successful spine surgery inspired him to return to publishing. He now writes full time, focusing primarily on horror novels, sagas, and series, while still creating poetry.

Aryn has published over two dozen books and has rewritten many of his earlier stories. He handles all of his own editing (with the assistance of specialized apps) and is also an accomplished artist who designs his own book covers and creates atmospheric trailer videos. When he isn’t writing, he can be found painting, drawing, sculpting, and woodworking.

A devoted family man, Aryn lives in southern Alberta with his spouse and four children, who have been incredibly supportive throughout his journey with physical and mental disabilities. Originally from British Columbia, he now calls the prairies of Alberta home.

His work is available across more than seventeen major online retailers, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Apple Books. Audiobook editions of his titles can be found on Audible, with a dozen new stories scheduled for release this year.
