Dan Sorensen is a seasoned cybersecurity and AI governance leader with over 23 years of experience as a CISO, board advisor, and cybersecurity engineer supporting aerospace, defense, and critical infrastructure organizations. A U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard veteran, he has led large-scale cyber programs, system security engineering efforts, and incident response initiatives to protect mission-critical systems against advanced threats.

As Founder of Nexus Security Advisors, a disabled veteran-owned fractional vCISO and cybersecurity strategy firm, Dan helps executive teams transform cyber risk into resilience and measurable ROI while navigating global regulations such as NIST RMF, ISO 27001, CMMC, and the EU AI Act. His work integrates cyber risk management, Zero Trust, AI-driven defense, and AI/LLM security to enable secure innovation in highly regulated environments.

Dan is a recognized thought leader and Forbes Technology Council member, contributing expert insights on cybersecurity, AI risk, and resilience for boards and technology leaders.
