Prof Ameer Azam

Ameer Azam is a Professor of Applied Physics with over 40 years of experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership. His work spans multiple disciplines, but his passion lies in nanotechnology, a field he pioneered at his university, where he also established the Centre of Excellence in Materials Science (Nanomaterials). A trailblazer in his field, Dr. Azam has supervised more than a dozen Ph.D. scholars, published about 260 research papers, and held seven patents. His name is proudly listed among the top 2% of world scientists in Materials Science.

Dr. Azam’s career began humbly in 1986 as a high school teacher. Through perseverance, continuous learning, and strategic innovation, he rose through the ranks, becoming Assistant Professor in 1996, Associate Professor in 2006, and eventually Full Professor in 2015. Throughout his illustrious career, he has had the unique opportunity to interact with students across all age groups, from school children to doctoral scholars, gaining deep insights into the diverse challenges and potential at every stage of learning. His passion for teaching and mentoring is rooted in the belief that every individual can achieve success through the right balance of intelligence, purpose, and hard work.
