Bert George holds a PhD in Applied Economics (Ghent University) and is full professor of public management and strategy at the City University of Hong Kong. His research, teaching and service all have a strong focus on strategy processes and practices in public and nonprofit organizations. Bert has taught in several executive programs across the globe, including at the Hertie School (Berlin), the Public Governance Institute (Leuven) and the Dutch School for Public Governance (The Hague). He has consulted for among others the OECD, advising governments on how to improve their performance and adopt strategy processes and practices (e.g. in Latvia, Wales, Georgia, Ukraine, Abu Dhabi). His work has been cited by the US White House, World Bank, UNICEF, OECD and many other international organizations, and national and regional governments in pretty much every continent. He is a Stanford top 2% scientist, and holds numerous awards including from the American Society for Public Administration.
