Meet Nisha Shenoy: Storyteller, Stereotype Slayer, and Self-Worth Catalyst!
Nisha is a Chartered Accountant turned HR Leader who found her true calling in storytelling. Her journey from Corporate Boardroom to Bestselling Author has been a kaleidoscope of experiences—oscillating between social fluency and personal vulnerability, much like the flawed yet relatable characters in her stories. With over 18 years of corporate leadership behind her, she stepped boldly into the world of writing in 2022 and has already authored four books and an audiobook that resonate with readers seeking authenticity and emotional depth. Certified in Child Psychology and Queer Therapy, Nisha is as much a mentor as she is a creator.
Her mission is clear: to inspire introverts and young adults to embrace their authentic selves and find emotional freedom. Her books amplify voices that shatter gender and body stereotypes, drawing deeply from her own journey of grappling with undiagnosed Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD). And with her first TEDx talk set for December 2024, Ms. Shenoy is poised to amplify this mission further.
A child prodigy with a flair for the arts, Nisha trained in Bharatanatyam and gave her first stage performance at the age of three. By ten, she was acting in a National Award-winning Kannada film (Prathama Usha Kirana), and by twelve, she had penned her first fiction story. Her lifelong battle with Body Dysmorphia, began as an outcome of recurring body-shaming and bullying through her growing years, which inspires her to challenge societal norms around beauty and body confidence.
Based in Hyderabad, Nisha shares her world with her husband Vijay Damodara, a fellow Chartered Accountant, and their nine-year-old miracle child, Ved, who was born after a series of painful miscarriages. When she’s not writing, Nisha can be found capturing stories through her lens as a portrait photographer, or simply dancing through life (quite literally—she’s a trained Bharatanatyam dancer!) or supporting her indie-author friends by reading & promoting their self-published books.
Join her on a journey of empowerment, healing, and embracing flaws—because, as Nisha believes, every story holds the power to change lives, including your own.
