Cory Geffre

Cory Geffre is a nurse who climbed every rung of the ladder. Nursing assistant, then LPN, then RN, then charge nurse, then manager, then director, and eventually the executive suite as a health system's Executive Vice President of Hospital Operations and Chief Nursing Officer.

Along the way he learned the jobs that come with no instructions... leading the people who used to be your peers, and running a hospital so it stops losing money. He has taken operations from losing money to making it inside a single fiscal year, in health system after health system, and he writes about how to do that in Stabilize. Optimize. Anchor.

The other job is the subject of his Amazon bestseller Lead Your People: Framework for Leadership Success, and of Dear Nurse Leader, which began as the notes he sent the nurse leaders who worked for him on Monday mornings.

In life the same work is called a comeback, and Cory has needed his own. He documented that in his book Make Your Comeback From Job Loss: Rebuild Your Identity, Confidence, and Purpose After a Job Loss in Your 40s, 50s, and 60s.

He holds three degrees in healthcare, and an MS in Management, Strategy and Leadership from the Broad College at Michigan State.

When he is not writing or speaking, you will find him out front chasing his one true hobby, which is doing his best to have the best yard on the block. He takes this far more seriously than he should. He wrote a book about that too.
