Weihai Xue

Weihai Wayne Xue was born in a small coastal village of Fujian Province, China. The cultural revolution started in the second year of 1966 after he was born. He grew up during the cultural revolution and saw the violence and chaos across Chinese society in his childhood. He still remembers the day when his father came back home with long unshaved facial hair covering his whole pale face, after being locked up in the camp for months. His father was an honest peasant who only cultivated the land to feed his family.

His father was born in Indonesia. His father and his Malaysian grandmother fled Indonesia during the “Bersiap” period to settle down in China. Weihai grew up with his beloved mother and grandmother for his whole childhood. None of his childhood parents and grandmother were educated. His parents may speak Fuqing local dialect only, while his grandmother could only speak limited local dialect. His father was unschooled, poorly educated. His father did not know how to name his only son when Weihai was born. When the registrar from the village came for newborn registration, his father simply followed the registrar's recommendations to name his son, Weihai, which means “reclamation of land from sea”. Because that was the year when the villagers started building a dam along the coastline for more land, to grow more crops to feed the people living in the village.

With his grandfather emigrating to Indonesia long before New China was established in 1949, his parents’ family was considered to have an overseas relationship during the cultural revolution. Weihai has always been kept outside the circle of government. He was not even a little red guard when almost all his classmates had become the red guards.

Thanks to the great reform led by Mr. Deng in 1978, he was able to get a good mark during the GaoKao exam. He studied Foundry at Beijing Iron and Steel Institute, known as the University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB) nowadays. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree from USTB in 1985.

After obtaining three construction trade licenses in Ontario and professional engineers licenses in Fujian China and Ontario Canada, Weihai has been working as an independent professional engineer providing building mechanical and electrical engineering services to the public in Ontario, Canada since 2007. For building heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) load calculation, he developed his own Load Calculation Excel Template that has been used for residential house HVAC design for over two decades. The HVAC systems designed by him never experienced any comfort issues.

He taught HVAC design, refrigeration and air conditioning theory… etc. courses in George Brown College (GBC) as a professor during 2014 and 2016, and he is also teaching Udemy Courses. His method of building heating and cooling load calculation has also been introduced in his residential house HVAC load calculation series books. With the Excel calculation template developed by him, the building heating, cooling and ventilation load calculation can be performed without the need for other software tools for any type of building. Recently, he graduated from the digital media marketing postgraduate certificate program of George Brown College in August 2024.

Through many years of practical construction trades experiences, he has developed a strong sense and understanding of how the solar radiation energy has been heating up the dark materials on the roofs when he worked on the roofs, as he felt how hot the roof material could become. He knows how the buildings consume fossil fuels as he performed building mechanical and electrical system audits for hundreds and hundreds of buildings. Watching climate change, global warming and natural disasters unfolding across the world in recent years, he cannot stop thinking about what we could do to reverse the trend of global warming. He thinks he has found the true causes of global warming, when he performed heating and cooling load calculations for our planet _the earth.

The quantified calculation results shocked him too. Based on his calculations, humans have unintentionally set the earth heading towards a much higher average temperature in the near future, even if we stop consuming fossil fuel immediately. The earth is still heading to an average 18 ºC temperature in a few decades from the current 15 ºC average temperature level . The earth has already crossed many tipping points, urgent change is required. The true causes of global warming are discussed in one of his books _the causes of global warming and the solutions to challenges.

Global average temperature has been rising at a rapid pace, as the sea water temperature is taking the lead to cause the earth to heat up in recent decades. Based on his calculation for earth heating / cooling load, he has found out that humans have added tremendous amounts of energy in the oceans since the industrial revolution. The over budget energy is mainly from the solar radiation energy absorbed by fossil fuel by-products that has been covering the earth surface since the industrial revolution started about 150 years ago.

Weihai holds two granted patents for Solar Charge Maximizing Controllers in the US and China. The Canadian patent is pending. The book of the “Solar Charge Maximizing Controllers (SCMC) Explained” will explain the details of how we may maximize the solar radiation energy harvesting to replace the fossil fuels, and why it is the answer to the sustainable future of all humanities. Solar panels installed over dark fossil fuel byproducts, such as asphalt pavement & asphalt shingles, will work with solar charge maximizing controllers to maximize the renewable energy harvesting, while minimizing the earth’s solar radiation energy absorption. Because all the absorbed over-budget solar radiation energy for earth has been transferred by water and vapor in the form of rain, snow or storms, and eventually ended up in the oceans.

His books are mainly written for our future generations, as they are the ones who will experience the consequences of global warming the most. We must rely on them to take the lead in action. Armed with knowledge, our future generations will not have to protest, to block the traffic by sitting in front of the trucks. They can use the knowledge learnt from his books to reverse the trend of global warming.
