Bee Davis

Bee Rosa Davis is a Black trans woman, NASA engineer, author, and civil rights litigant whose work bridges technology, law, and imagination. With over 35 patents in cybersecurity and AI, she created APHD—Algorithmic Proximate Harm Detection—a forensic framework that translates online trauma into evidence for litigation. After surviving harassment on Grindr, she became the first known plaintiff to keep the platform in open court under the Ending Forced Arbitration of Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment Act. Her nonfiction book Motion To Be Seen: One Black Trans Woman’s Fight for Algorithmic Justice weaves memoir, law, and technology to expose how platforms monetize harm. She is also the author of the novels Fly Into The Sun and A Pale Jewel, works of queer futurism and love that center trans women in worlds of resilience and beauty. She lives in Sacramento, where she organizes locally with queer and faith-rooted justice groups.
