Sam Ladkin

Sam Ladkin is an academic and editor working on 20th & 21st Century poetry, visual art, dance, and music. He is Associate Professor in Critical & Creative Writing at the University of Sussex, having taught previously at the University of Sheffield and University College Cork. He is the author of Perfectly Disgraceful: Frank O'Hara's New York School and Mid-Century Mannerism from Oxford University Press. With Luke Roberts he co-edited the selected poetry of Mark Hyatt (1940-1972). Hyatt lived at the center and the fringes of the bohemian underground in 1960s Britain. In the half-century since his death, his work has been known almost exclusively by word of mouth. Drawing on a full range of archival sources, So Much For Life (Nightboat) is the first comprehensive edition of his poems. Ladkin is also the co-editor of five collections of poetry and essays, including Against Value in the Arts & Education.
