Philip J Williams

Norfolk born and bred; I left school at 16 (that was normal

back in the 80s) and went off to join the army, enlisting in the

1st battalion Royal Anglian Regiment in which I served for a

few years before returning to take up a civilian career, although

maintaining my military service with the territorial army. But

now, with army life a distant memory and my civilian career

drawing to a close, the time has come to focus my attention

on more fulfilling pursuits. Living in a small riverside village in

the heart of the idyllic Norfolk Broads, my wife and I both

prefer the peaceful tranquillity of rural life over the hustle and

bustle of the busy world outside our Broadland sanctuary, and

it is here in the company of cheeky squirrels, boisterous otters

and skittish kingfishers, I can turn my hand to painting,

military history and growing vegetables in the kitchen garden.

But my latest interest is writing. I may be an amateur, and this,

my first attempt, may not be an epic read, but hopefully you’ve

enjoyed it enough not to set the dogs on me. Nor a company

of wolves for that matter.
