A decade of Jim’s performance poetry is captured in Fresh Light—chronicling American popular culture during the last half century. A tapestry of personal vignettes and cultural observations are artfully woven in a non-judgmental, unique conversational manner, easily accessible to a broad adult audience.
Monographs venerating song, literature and lifestyles, flow through Fresh Light in a cool rhythm, often engaging readers to experience events firsthand, as if they were their own.
Seegert has been a frequent reader and featured performer of both poetry and spoken word throughout the NYC metropolitan area, principally with the Performance Poet’s Association in Queens/Long Island, and the Phoenix Reading Series in the West Village, among others.

“Writing is what I pour my creative energy into these days,” Seegert a graduate of the prestigious Cleveland Institute of Art declares, “What I learned wasn’t only artistic techniques but, even more importantly, how to experiment, to think, to be creative.”
A signed copy of Fresh Light is on display in the Annual Showcase at The Poet's House (NYC)—where it will remain archived in its permanent collection.
