I’m a lawyer and policy expert living in Northern Virginia with my husband and two sons. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, hiking, biking, gardening, and having intense discussions about politics after a glass (or two) of wine.

My passion is writing unconventional, radically inclusive love stories about characters with complex backstories. I’m especially interested in writing strong female characters and writing against romance tropes. My stories don’t include a lot of twenty-five year old adorably clumsy bakers/florists/innkeepers or tall, rich, witty alpha males with improbable jobs in the publishing industry. I’m not interested in following the formulas of romance novel relationship development or ending with a neat “happily ever after.” I’m interested in writing a different kind of love story, the kind that demonstrates that love is possible for everyone, even in the midst of grief, trauma, aging, and imperfection.
