Filip Aggestam

Dr. Aggestam is an interdisciplinary scholar and practitioner whose career bridges environmental governance, science-policy interfaces, and academia. With a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna, his research focuses on value frames in landscape management and the human-environment relationship.

Professionally, Filip serves as a Scientific and Technical Officer for the Convention on Wetlands, where he manages the Scientific and Technical Review Panel (STRP) and drives science-policy outreach to enhance wetland conservation and sustainable management.

An active author, Filip published hist first book "European Forest Policy and Governance" in 2024, synthesising his interdisciplinary research. His academic contributions include numerous scientific publications and reports on environmental policy, often with a focus on the forest-based sector.
