James T. Siburt

Following my undergraduate work at Radford University, I earned postgraduate degrees in History (Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University), and Library & Information Science (Vanderbilt University). In 1982, I began a thirty year career as librarian for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-Nashville District. During this period, in addition to a large amount of technical writing, my work appeared in military history publications, state historical journals, and the 1996 Tennessee Encyclopedia of History and Culture.

Since retirement, I’ve written several volumes of historical mysteries, police procedurals, and action adventure stories, many of them set in 19th century Middle Tennessee. Murder Most Public: A U.S. Marshal Ward Wilkinson Murder Mystery Adventure is my first novel.

I began life on a farm in rural West Virginia, spent my formative years in a medium sized city and a university town, before moving to Tennessee over forty years ago. In addition to my writing, I enjoy travel, golf, and the exploits of my favorite sports teams, among them the Nashville Predators.
