REMCO RAVEN

Remco Raven was born in Kortrijk in 1951. He is married, has two grown-up children and lives in the Ardennes. He speaks four languages.

After high school, he joined the army, where he qualified successively as a radar operator and computer scientist, then as a teacher of “psychology and management”, computer scientist and specialist in “Civil and Military Cooperation”. He served three years in the Balkans as a liaison officer in Bosnia, six months in Albania during the Kosovo war and two years as an observer for the European Union, where he ended his career. He then decided to write about his experiences. Basically, he wanted to point out all the injustices he had witnessed. This helps him to reconcile with himself and get rid of all the impotent repressed anger.

He's a fan of the American writing style. “A story should take the reader into another universe in which he experiences the adventure himself,” is his definition of good suspense literature.

Although Raven writes mostly fiction, he bases his stories on his own experiences and on historical facts.
