Elisah McGee

Elisah McGee is a dynamic leader carving a renewed path. She seeks God in all things, lives life to its fullest, and balances a hard work ethic with simple joys as a hopeful example to her four children.

A visionary, she founded Freedom Defense Group (FDG) in 2019 alongside her husband to raise the standard of innovation with mission-ready solutions for the Department of Defense and state, local, and federal agencies. Its mission is to serve the brave men and women of the United States who sacrifice their lives to protect others and secure freedom. FDG does its part to ensure our warfighters make it safely home to their families.

As CEO, Elisah strategically aligns her company to exceed objectives by building infrastructure, guiding philosophy, positioning growth, and empowering leaders. Securing certification as a woman-owned small business, Elisah persistently strives to lead with honor and integrity while encouraging her team and peers to do the same.

She faithfully pursues challenges to catapult personal growth and shift paradigm thinking. Moving their beach family to a barren ninety-five-acre farm in rural Brookneal, Virginia, in 2020, Elisah and her husband rapidly renovated, built structures, and adopted a growing variety of livestock. Two short years later, they founded a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization called Mission Freedom Farm that set the framework for a healing place for leaders to rest and reinvigorate their missions. She and her husband recently purchased a third farm to host weddings and events as well as land to expand her nonprofit.

Elisah is an avid philanthropist and community advocate. She has served as an election official with the Virginia Department of Elections since 2020, was Mrs Virginia USA Earth 2023, and worked as a board member of Keep Virginia Beautiful.

A University of Virginia graduate, she is also a creative big-picture thinker and writer. She transcribed one hundred World War II letters between two sweethearts for her community, serves as a caretaker for two century-old cemeteries, and has been entrusted with transcribing and preserving another World War II military journal. Her time serving as Mrs Virginia USA Earth set her on a journey to write and publish her first children’s book, Be Kind to Nature, in 2023. She is also a contributing author of the third edition of The Joy-Full Entrepreneur.
