Maya Mourshed

Maya loves to bring characters and fun stories to math and science topics. It started with the chemical elements of the periodic table and later expanded to math. Multiple nation-wide writing contests have awarded her work, including those conducted by Scholastic, the American Chemical Society, Society of Young Inklings, and Stone Soup. Her debut book, Chemistories, was a 2026 Kirkus Indie Award Finalist in the Children’s Literature category. By combining STEM with engaging characters, Maya aspires to enable young and tween readers to understand and appreciate the magic of math and science.
