Tim Nicholson

Tim Nicholson is a writer and musician whose work explores the intersections of beauty, belief, and the human experience. He is the author of a series of music appreciation textbooks and has contributed essays to ByFaith Magazine and other publications. His first children’s book with his wife Sandra, The Maker of the Mountain (B&H, April 2025), blends lyrical storytelling with theological wonder.

Tim has served in leadership at churches across the United States, serving congregations in Maryland, South Carolina, Tennessee, and New York City. He currently serves on staff at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City. In 2025 he served as at artist-in-residence at Wycliffe Hall, University of Oxford.

Tim spend time as a whitewater and wilderness guide in Idaho and once worked as a Christmas ornament salesman at Harrods in London, England. An Eagle Scout and lifelong outdoorsman, he has climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, run five marathons, and enjoys endurance sports and outdoor adventure.

He lives in Nashville, Tennessee, with his wife, Sandra, and their children.
