Colin was born in 1967 to working class parents, in a mid-Cornwall economy which was struggling against the final contractions of a once eminent mining industry.
In his pre-teens he escaped into the world of classic science fiction, developing a love of alternate history and fantasy styled works by authors including Lyon Sprague De Camp, Robert Heinlein and James Blish. Prior to entering employment, Colin enjoyed early success as a writer with works published in a national poetry anthology.
In 1985, Colin began work with his local authority as a trainee surveyor, which developed into a thirty-year career as a chartered property professional. Throughout a varied work life which included education / social care asset management, construction project management and foreign aid, he continued to expand his passion for the sci-fi and horror genres, with particular interest in the niche macabre including Brian Lumley’s Necroscope series.
Colin left full time employment in 2021 and now writes professionally, reflecting his interest of science, theology and psychology within his work. In November 2024 he released his first full length novel - ANGUS.
