Alex Hope

Dr. Alex Hope is a distinguished academic leader and Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education) at Northumbria University’s Faculty of Business and Law. With expertise in responsible business and sustainable development, he leads initiatives to advance teaching excellence, student experience, and global engagement. Formerly Head of the Department of Leadership and HRM, Dr. Hope has driven key projects to integrate the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into education.

A global advocate for sustainable business, he serves on the UN Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) Global Board, co-chairs the UN PRME Climate and Environment Working Group, and sits on the North East board of Business in the Community. His research focuses on embedding SDGs and climate action into university strategies, preparing future leaders to address critical global challenges.
