Ciaj Rocchi (1976) and Matteo Demonte (1973) are illustrators, video and comic makers.
In 2015, they published the graphic novel Primavere e Autunni [Springs and Autumns] (BeccoGiallo), and in 2017, Chinamen, un secolo di cinesi a Milano [Chinamen, a century of Chinese in Milan] (BeccoGiallo ), which is also an animated documentary. Between March and April 2017, Chinamen was turned into an exhibition at the Museo delle culture in Milan. Both graphic
novels were translated into Chinese and published by Dangdang.
In 2021, they published the graphic novel La Macchina Zero, Mario Tchou e il primo computer Olivetti [Machine zero. Mario Tchou and the first Olivetti computer] (Solferino,) and in 2022 Le stelle di Dora, Le sfide del Generale Carlo Alberto dalla Chiesa [Dora’s stars. The endeavours of General Carlo Alberto dalla Chiesa] (Solferino).
In 2023, they published Memories, notes and maps of a journey to the West, ed. Cleup.
In 2024, they published Eroi nel Vento – Storia dei Militari Italiani nella guerra di Liberazione [Heroes in the wind – history of the Italian army in the liberation war]; the book was released by the Italian Ministry of Defence and distributed in secondary schools in Italy.
In 2026, they published Gli 8 Immortali [The 8 Immortals (Orientalia Editrice) and Comunità di Destini [Community of Destinies], a multimedia project that recounts sixty years of the history of the Chinese community in Italy through a double series: animated cartoons and illustrated books.
Since 2015, they are editorial illustrators for La Lettura and II Corriere della Sera.
