A.C. Meyer

A.C. Meyer, a true Colorado native, from his early days to the present, embodies a remarkable journey of self-discovery, resiliency, and vision. As a child, he was often a loner and found solace in his own company, his imagination running wild. The challenges of fitting in led him to find shelter within the creative world, where he explored different art forms and discovered the power of self-expression through his artistic endeavors. He is a multi-disciplined artist, whose work has appeared in numerous galleries and events for over 30 years, yet his journey didn't stop there.

A.C. embraced the roles of husband and father, cherishing an active life that saw him working in a college media department, volunteering at a fire department, and serving in the military. He embarked on deployments to various countries and found himself at the heart of history multiple times including the invasion of Iraq in 2003.

But life took an unexpected turn upon his return home. The toll of service became evident as he grappled with a traumatic brain injury and the weight of PTSD, his condition worsening over time. The life he once knew began to unravel. In the face of such adversity, A.C. faced a tumultuous period, navigating painfully through the darkest of days. With the help of a kind and very patient therapist and lots of work, he began to find tools and strategies to move forward and use his creativity to redirect a lot of his negative thinking. Through this process, many of the ideas born, are the creative projects he enjoys working on now. When through a chance mentorship opportunity, he learned he had unintentionally built a business through this process, he decided to move forward with the help of a friend, and in 2020 Interactive Entertainment Company was founded.

Pushing further, A.C. was accepted into the Bunker Labs Veteran in Residence program. For the next year and a half, he found mentors and comrades in fellow veterans who inspired and guided him. He also discovered at that time, the warmth and wisdom of the local Denver entrepreneurial scene, a network of individuals who extended their kindness and expertise to help fuel his journey. The journey reached another milestone when he was accepted into the Reynolds & Reynolds-sponsored Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans (EBV) program at the McFerrin Center for Entrepreneurship at Texas A&M. This transformative experience elevated his game to a new level, leaving him in awe of the incredible support, knowledge, and opportunities that came his way.

When looking for writing mentorship, he met Susan Segovia-Munoz on Linkedin. Guy Castle was born shortly after and the rest is history. Together they founded Pogey Bait Books, a publishing company specializing in publishing veteran authors and delivering outstanding content.

A.C. is a scrappy, determined author, artist and bootstrapper. He takes immense pride in his ventures including starting 2 different service disabled veteran-owned businesses, as well as now writing his first book.
