Betts Arney

Under the pen names Anne Buntin and Betts Arney, author Gail Buntin Blohowiak brings real-life experiences to her work. Her middle-grade series, Growing Up Alex, with the first book Elusive Common Sense, introduces a determined young protagonist tackling pre-adolescent challenges.

Praised for humor and relatable themes like family, friendship, self-discovery, and resilience, the series is perfect for classroom and community libraries, readers' groups, and book clubs. Her website offers educational resources to deepen students' engagement with skills in plot, theme, literary devices, and spelling.

In addition to her work with youth, Blohowiak has taught grades 7–9, led college master classes, and served as a business consultant and board member, including as Downtown Green Bay Rotary president.
