Gabriel Allan Tolliver

A lifelong learner and explorer, Gabriel is the author of a variety of books:  Bling The Hip-Hop Jewelry Book with the late Reggie Ossé/Combat Jack, Embrace The Suck: 366 Days of courage, strength, inspiration, wisdom and hope, The Dao of Whooping A**, Haiku S**: before, during & after, the photo book; Objects of Deployment, and was a contributor to the Smithsonian Anthology of Hip-Hop and Rap.

Beyond his quirky books, Gabriel is a multimedia storyteller, crafting narratives across platforms that spark curiosity and delve into the complexities of culture, music, art, politics, and the human experience. A writer, director, producer, and author, he holds degrees from UC Berkeley's Graduate School of Journalism, NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, and Long Island University-Brooklyn. A US Army veteran (2007-2011) who served in Afghanistan (2009-2010) as an Army video journalist (46R), Gabriel brings a unique perspective to his work. He’s from Shaker Heights, Ohio and is the caretaker of two pussycats.
