Raquel Araújo

Raquel was born in 1989, a busy year in history. Despite this, she likes it peace and quiet. She learned to read at the age of 4 and has never stopped since. Married to Douglas, mother of Marina (in memoriam) and Felipe, and is now in the process of adopting. She is from Minas Gerais, but grew up in Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo. Douglas is from Rio, raised in Amazonas and Brasília; and Felipe is from Espírito Santo, but they are all living in Paraná, the family's last Brazilian residence. Now, they are moving to the USA. She is also a psychologist, with a master's degree in political sociology, and loves helping people - whether they are in the clinic, in vulnerable neighborhoods, in church, in NGOs, in post-disaster situations or seeking refuge after war. Having said all this, the most important thing is the beginning: Raquel loves the quiet life. Christ, the Author of her story, taught her to be gentle and to live in peace.
