S.R. Daugherty, the author of the 2024 novel Scheherazade’s One Thousand and Second Night, is a retired high school mathematics teacher. His late wife taught French and Kindergarten. He has a son, three granddaughters, and a daughter-in-law from France.
He plays in the bluegrass band Highway 5 Overdrive, and has written several copyrighted songs.
He’s a gardener, day hiker, and gym rat. He has won his age group twice in 5K races.
Before getting into the teaching industry, S.R.Daugherty sold several fantasy and science fiction stories—most of these are collected in Ballad of the Rails and Other Stories (2022, available in paperback & Kindle.) He has also published non-fiction in Bluegrass Unlimited and other periodicals.
His other interests and emotional investments include: Japanese maples, Russian novels, Georgia Bulldogs football, Martin guitars, sixteenth century choral music, and silent movies.
