Daniel L. Koch is a seasoned entrepreneur with a unique background in both law and the amusement park industry. Born and raised in Huntingburg, Indiana, he grew up immersed in his family’s amusement and water park business operations in Santa Claus, Indiana. After graduating from Heritage Hills High School in Lincoln City, Indiana, he pursued a law degree from the University of Miami, earning his J.D. in 1990. He was admitted to the Florida Bar that same year, followed by the Indiana Bar in 1991 and the California Bar in 1993.
Although he practiced law for over two decades, Daniel ultimately decided to follow his passion for the amusement park industry. In 2013, he left his legal career to rescue Alabama Adventure & Splash Adventure, a struggling amusement and water park in Bessemer, Alabama. Under his leadership, the park has transformed remarkably, becoming a beloved destination for families across Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, and Tennessee. Daniel takes great pride in this turnaround, bringing the park to one of the finest periods in its 27-year history.
Now residing in Bessemer, Alabama, Daniel is a dedicated community member he has called home for over 12 years. He is also a proud father of two children and is passionate about continuing the family’s legacy in the park industry. Their shared love and commitment to the business inspire their first book, which Daniel proudly supports. In addition to his business achievements, Daniel’s story is one of dedication, passion, and family—values that have driven his success and continue to shape his legacy.
