Edward Armston-Sheret

Edward Armston-Sheret is a historical and cultural geographer specialising in nineteenth- and twentieth-century travel and exploration. Currently a Fellow at the Institute of Historical Research, University of London, he holds a PhD in historical geography from Royal Holloway.

Edward's research focuses on diversifying the history of geography by highlighting the contributions of people of colour to British-led expeditions. He also explores how the study of exploration can inform contemporary debates about the decolonisation of geography, the role of polar expeditions in advancing medical knowledge, and the use of alcohol and stimulants by explorers.
