Davie Thomson

Davie Thomson is a business leader, board member, and advisor with more than three decades of experience helping organisations confront where time is being lost, and how that loss ultimately expresses itself in cash, margin, and revenue.

His work sits upstream of tools and improvement programmes, concentrating on how systems are designed, governed, and sustained under real operating pressure. He works comfortably at board level and deep inside operations, bringing clarity to complex situations where effort is high but progress is fragile.

Early in his career, Davie trained extensively in Japan and was a founding member of Nissan’s Supplier Development Team, which introduced kaizen thinking to the UK and Europe in the early 1990s. That grounding shaped a lifelong focus on flow, simplicity, and practical systems that work in the real world.

Over the years, he has led and supported transformation across manufacturing, engineering, and supply-chain intensive organisations, often in situations defined by urgency, constraint, and difficult trade-offs. His approach is pragmatic, people-centred, and firmly rooted in how work actually happens, not how it is meant to.

Davie is the author of The Timeline and The Essence, where he explores time as a governing variable in performance, leadership, and organisational drift.

He lives in the UK, is married with two grown children, two grandchildren, and a border collie.
