T.J. Olson

Timothy J. Olson is an American novelist and veteran whose work traces the fault lines between faith and ruin, discipline, and doubt. His stories draw from mythic epics, philosophical literature, and the stark clarity of modern war—worlds where the sacred and the broken breathe the same air.

Born on the outskirts of Chicago, Olson served three years in the Wisconsin National Guard, five years in the active Army as a reconnaissance scout sniper with the 82nd Airborne Division, and three more in the Army Reserves. He later worked as a police officer before turning toward academia, earning an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor of Science in English Literature.

Olson continues to explore the structures that bind people—faith, memory, and systems alike. His works carry the mark of a soldier’s precision and a storyteller’s search for meaning.
