Bettse Folsom

I, Bettse Folsom, discovered my passion for writing at a young age and pursued it through life's twists and turns. I have been an avid reader and writer my entire life. I worked for a local newspaper for a while and was published in many different magazines such as “American Fitness,” “Reunion Magazine,” “Grit Magazine,” and several Midwestern magazines. “Greenhorn Filly in Texas” is my first fiction book, but my second book published. I also authored a short book on “How to Self Publish Your Own Book.”

Besides working as a writer, I am a graphic designer, editor, photographer, and website developer. I edited and self-published four of my mother’s books, (Helen Walsh Folsom, author of Irish fiction and non-fiction works), and created the design covers for each of them and my own.

Although I sincerely love world history, I am most fascinated and dedicated by American history and have studied this in length. “Greenhorn Filly in Texas” is set in the 1870s-1880s about a young girl who, looking for her brother, ends up working on a ranch, solving a mystery, and falling for the co-owner of the Double D Ranch.

I sincerely hope you enjoy reading my newest novel as well, “Warm Embers Burn Deep.” It is about a British officer injured during the War of 1812 and left for dead. He stays in America and eventually must escort two mysterious individuals from St. Louis, Missouri clear across the country and deep into the Oregon Territory! I enjoyed the research and experiencing the treacherous trip along with Layn, C.C., and Ben.
